Abstract
Information retrieval process deals with representation, storage and search of a collection of data. Data can be in various forms e.g. text files, image files, speech files, music files. Research in this area and the corresponding tools are quite mature. However, with the advancement of technology new challenges are coming up. A continuous effort of the researchers and product developers are needed to handle these challenges.
